Peek At Our Final Full Week

Our final full week of second grade together! I can’t believe the end is near!
It has been such a great year of growing and learning together!

In Math, we created more cube train patterns and finished our last unit on tables and patterns. We also played some review games too.

In Writing, we made an “All About Me” favorite things packet. We also finished our memory book pages for our favorite field trip and what we’ll miss the most. I was touched that most wrote about me! J
The students wrote letters about themselves for their third grade teacher. I was very impressed with how well they turned out.

In Science, we learned about structures of buildings and different homes from around the world. The students worked on a see and sketch book and read information about how different homes are built and where they are located. They did a great job!

Friday was a fulfilled Field Day! The weather was perfect for all the activities and we had a ton of fun! Our class won the leaky bucket because they worked as a team!

We reached over 150 compliments for the year! That is amazing. All the students voted and decided to have a stuffed animal day. Each one can bring in a small stuffed animal on Monday.

I hope you have a great weekend with your family!
The last official day of school is on Tuesday, June 25th and it is a half day.

Peek At The Week

What a very busy week we had! It flew by and it was so fun too!
The Famous American Tea was fantastic! I always love this event and I am so proud of all my students!
Thank you to all of the parents for helping with this memorable experience!
I would love any pictures that you took from the Tea today. You can email them to me.
I did put some on the blog.

In Math, we learned about tables and patterns. We filled in tables based on cubes and pattern blocks. We made pattern cube trains too with AB and ABC patterns.

In Social Studies, we wrote cinquain poems about our famous American. We also practiced for the Tea and learned about famous American symbols.

In Writing, we began writing in a special memory book for second grade. We wrote about a favorite book, made our cover portrait, the most interesting thing I learned, and what I liked best about my teacher. I always love reading them!

Thursday, 6/20 will be Field Day (weather permitting). Please check the backpack folder for an important notice about this fun day!

I hope you have a great weekend! I'm glad the weather turned around!
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads!
I know you’ll enjoy your special gifts from your child!

Peek At The Week

Happy June! We had another great week together! It was fun to have all the special school spirit days!

In Math, we worked on solving addition and subtraction using hundreds, tens, and ones. The students learned to use sticker notation to help them add and subtract using larger numbers. This visual really helps a lot! We completed Unit 8 and will move on to Unit 5 about tables and patterns next week.

In Science, we learned a lot of fun things about the sun, moon, and earth from Mr. Muscleman. He was very impressed with how much the students knew already! We played Jeopardy to prepare for the test we had on Wednesday too.

In Writing, we shared our written pieces about another classmate we interviewed.
We also produced some poem writing and gifts in preparation for Father’s Day on June 16th.

*Reminder*
The Famous American Tea scripts are due this Monday June 10th and the costumes on June 11th. Please help your child prepare their script for this special event!

Our Famous America Tea is on Friday, June 14th at 9:00 a.m. This is a very special event!

I hope you have a great weekend! Stay dry! I’ll see you on the 14th
