No School tomorrow! I can't believe we are gearing up for a blizzard!
This week went by
so quickly!
In Math, the
students created maps of “The Land of Inch” in groups. They had to measure
places from the king’s castle and then add more details to their maps such as Memorial School or an ice cream shop. They were
very creative and had fun! Then we learned about metric measuring. We compared
inches and centimeters. We also did a scavenger hunt to look for centimeter
object and meter objects with a partner. They had fun!
In Social Studies,
we read books about rivers, mountains, and lakes. We created a land and water
booklet to go over all the important definitions. We also saw a video called All About Land Formations and then did a
3-2-1. That means 3 facts, 2 things you wonder about, and 1 picture scene. We
also wrote land and water riddles. We will get to share them next week to see if the students can guess each other's riddles.
I sent home a
study guide today for a quiz on landforms and bodies of water on Wednesday,
February 13th.
Also, the
students’ landform reports are due on Tuesday, February 12th. They even have extra time to work on their research!
I hope you all stay safe and get to have some fun with your family!
