Here's a peek at what we did this week:
In Math:
- Began Unit 10 on place value up to 1,000
- Used base ten blocks to solve problems with 3 digit
- Learned expanded form 200+30+9, standard form 239 and number word two hundred thirty-nine vocabulary
- Used 10 more/less or 100 more/less to solve problems in the hundreds
In Social Studies:
- Started discussing maps and globes and their differences/similarities
- Watched Brain Pop Jt. videos on maps and continents
- Made a "Where I Live" booklet and folder
- Learned about 7-5-4-2 for the 7 continents, 5 oceans, 4 hemispheres, and 2 poles
- Learned 2 songs and made a map to help us remember the 7 continents and 5 oceans
- Learned about cardinal directions N, E, S, W
- Began a landform and bodies of water booklet
In Writing:
- Practiced leader and follower sentences for homework practice
In Fundations and Reading:
- Read Lionel and Amelia
- Compared them using a Venn Diagram
- Discussed friendships and differences
- Practiced writing a summary
Continued to work on Unit 9 /r/ sounds for er, ir, ur
